Hi Rick,
I'm not sure about the L line thing, I just assumed it does use it.
But as for the Passat not being VAG-COM compliant, I'm sure it is.
The read-me with VAG-COM specifically lists my vehicle's engine (90-
92 2.0L 16V) as workable except with the "issue" of requiring the
Start Baud rate being set to 4800, which I did. Is there any way to
test the board by itself? I've read some things here about hooking a
battery to the car side and trying to communicate with it. How does
that work? And what software is required? A link to an appropriate
thread would be appreciated. Meanwhile, I'm going to do some reading
of this group:).
