Chris

Your posting is not correct, the vaginfo protocol works even the car is not
OBDII compliant.
I've Used it for a Skoda Felicia.
And also if the VAG is OBDII it uses ISO 9141-2 and not J1850 PWM.
After ISO 9141-2 came ISO 14230 also called KWP2000 or EOBD, that's European
OBD stannderd for models produced from 2000.
For the EOBD only K-line is neccesary, so they have pins 4, 5, 7, and 16 for
their protocol, but said it could use other pins for manufacturer specific
parts.

Hope this will be of interest,

Bert

ODB-II compatible engine management systems. This means that ALL cars
respond to the same commands, communicate with the same protocols etc.
