Hello Fabio,
The Fiat Punto (and I think all new european cars, also VW) uses the
kwp2000 (=?eobd) protocol. This is different from the protocol
kwp1281 on the VWinfo page.
In the files section of this group there are some documents about the
kwp2000 standard.
For kwp2000 there are normally two ways to start the communication:
the 5 baud and the fast initialization. The 5 baud init for kwp2000
(and obd II) is a little different from the 5 baud init from kwp1281,
as at the end, the ECU does send an extra byte: the complement of the
ECU address. And it does not automatically send the ID, but it waits
for a request.
For the motronic in the Fiat, you have to use ECU address 0x10 and
(if used) tester address 0xf1 I believe.
Hope this helps,
Sander.
