Hello,
I am new in this group. I don't have a VW, but my collegue has. And
I'm interested in Mortronics stuff. My cars are Alfa 75 1.8IE, Alfa
75 3.0V6QV and Alfetta 2.0IEQO. Both 75's have Motronic ML4.1 and I
believe the Alfetta has LE-jetronic ML3.3.
My collegue has a Corrado VR6, and has following problem:
If the engine runs slightly above idle, the rpm is going up and down
constantly. We suspect the lamba sonde. But if he releases the
throttle, rpms go far under idle and the enige nearly stops running.
We suspect for that the throttle sensor, maybe is has a to high
resistance. If the ECU thinks it is idling, the air control valve
will almost be closed, beacuse the throttle valve is already open. If
this suddenly shuts down, the engine won't get air for a short time.
I did some measurements on the throttle sensor: between both outer
contacts, it is 2kOhms (constant), and between one outer contact and
the central contact the resistance varies with the position of the
throttle valve. Between one resistance is increasing and between the
other contacts it is increasing.
Questions:
Could someone give numbers what we should measure?
Could our theory be valid?
Has anyone also same experiences?
Thanks,
Arjan Cats
