VPW interface's. Are there any around for DIY

I didn't get much useful feedback from my first ever post except some
flame from one guy to someone else.........

So here goes a more direct question before I loose interest in the
list.

Before I dabble with OBDII diag softwares I need to buy or build a
VPW type interface.

Is there a straight DIY schematic around ? or do I buy a BR-3 from
the US website ?
