Fuel flow calculation

Hi this is a 2 part question really.

1. Is it possible to get current fuel consumption figures using
KWP2000? If so, how? I can't find it in the spec.

2. If it's not possible to get it from the ECU, what's the easiest
way to calculate or even measure the current fuel consumption?

I could put a fuel-flow-meter in the fuel line, but I'd need to fit
two of them as most vehicles these days pump fuel to the engine and
back to the tank continously. No?
