I don't know which car are you trying to communicate with. In my case, I'm working on my BMW 328i from 1997. This car uses a protocol named DS2 thatuses only the "K" line (fast init). Before 1996 they used KWP71 that uses both "L" and "K" lines. In the files OPENDIAG section I posted a file namedScanner.zip, this zip contains the schematic I sent to you and a software writen by a unknown Russian. This software can be spyed to understand how he used "L" line to do slow init. The spy software is in this file section too. If you use RTS line of your RS232 serial port, there is no problem to manage it with Visual Basic or Delphi. now I'm working on the DS2, next step will be to do so with KWP71.

Thanks for the answer

I already know how the L-Line works... The thing i need is some
piece of code, just to understand how to send data through this L-
Line, port config, commands, etc.
My inteface support L-Line, but i really can't see how to use it.

I succesfully establish communication with many cars, but only via
the K...

Thanks
A.

unidirectional, from the tester to the car ECU. "K" is
bidirectional, attached you will find the scehematic I'm using with
all my projects. Works!!
