Hi,

Your problem isn't new on BMW and often present. Pressure sensor and
wire are the problem.
Cause in most trouble is broken wire or bad connectors.
If your airbag light is on there is no function. All AB-ECU's have a
EEPROM store the faults and you have to clear
the memory after repair with diagnostic. You can simple encircle the
fault with short wires to front-right seat but do it
with "ignition off" and after your action switch ignition on to see the
results.
Basically if the light goes on there is a fire/sensor line broken. ECU
send with ignition on a power to all fire circle to test the resistor.
Please don't test your fire lines with high current ( > 5 mA) a big-bang
could be the result.
Unfortunately I haven't software for BMW airbags.
