Hi
- KWP2000 and KWP1281 has the same physical layer but data line and application layer are different.
- the KWP2000 in new cars ( together with another protocol ) has init 8,n,1slow or fast init and baud rate is 10400.
- the IDs are > 0x80 to send to ECU
- as you explained below you have to do with KWP1281 and not with KWP2000
- please refer to kwp1281 data out to interpret the obtained datas
best regards
Bülent

Subject: [opendiag] Has anybody KWP2000 protocol for new audi/vw ?
Has anybody KWP2000 protocol for new audi/vw ?
I have KWP1281 protocol, But I havent KWP2000.
I download some KWP2000 Document from Group
I Know a few infomation about KWP2000 about SAAB.
But I know few VW/Audi with KWP2000 only.
I monitor data exchange between ECU and Tester, I discover :
ECU address send at 5 Baud ,1 + 7 + O + 1 .it is the same as KWp1281.
Now We can Receive sync character from ECU 1 + 8 + N + 1, Baud is
9600.
if We get sync character 0x55 ,So Baud is Correct else Now We can
calc or look up Table for Baud of ECU.
Now We set ComPort to correct Baud and Then Receive keyword 1 & 2 .it
is the same as KWp1281.
So we can Send Inverted of KeyByte to ECU.it is the same as KWp1281.
We Wait ECU send its Inverted of address. this is difference to
KWP1281.
If KWP1281, We wait ECU send first ID Packet to Tester.
If we get ECU sended Inverted of address , We Can send Command to
ECU.
e.g. Tester Present.
Init is OK.
I believe :
(1) At Physics Layer
Hardware is same between KWP2000 and KWP1281.
Because My VAG1552 Hardware has no change, But it can run
KWP2000 for new ABS Controller.
(2) At Data Link layer
It is different to KWP1281, KWP2000 is base Frame(Packet) Exchange.
KWP1281 is base Byte Exchange ( So it slow than KWP2000).
(3)At application layer
it is the same as KWp1281, has 10 functions (as I known).
I need known :
(1) How to Get command ID to ECU for user Selected function ?
(2) How to explain Data of Receive for Display to user ?
