KIA Diagnosis ?

Hi all,
I'm quite new to this kind of thing. I wonder if someone can help me.

I have a KIA Shuma/Spectra 1.5lt DOHC 16v EFI, could someone tell me what is the best software to use to diagnose it (both in terms of user friendliness and features). Also could you please send me or tell me from where to find a schematic of any circuitry I would need, to interface the engine to a PC's com port.

Would it be possible to tune the engine hence increasing BHP? What increase should I expect?
