Hello
when you say a car is KWP2000 compliant , it use the iso14230-4 format ( 10400 baud , slow and fast init etc.)
the frenchs car differ already in iso14230-3.
you must init with 0x7a in Renault , 0x11 in peugeot to connect to PCM.
if you dont know the address of ECU to use , you have to init with 0x33 , every ECU ( PCM,TCM,ABS,) respond to this query with their own physical address . once known you try to connect one after one to ECUs. try to send somecommands like get value by PID reference or by memory allocation.
get DTCs and clear DTC you get in each car that use the kwp2000 in the samemanner.
but discovering what the response means it is an another question..... ( you need a master PID list of the using car )
best regards
Bülent

Hi,
I have the same problem but in a different context. I have two Scantools, one specifically designed for Peugeot-Citroen and cost a lot. When I startcommunication with my Peugeot 206 it establishes the communication and says "Protocol: KWP2000".
I have another Scantool, a Generic one, which works on all OBD-II cars including KWP2000 (which I saw it working on the other cars) but cannot communicate with my Peugeot 206.
Are there different versions of KWP2000, and what are the differences?
Cheers

O don't know if my scooter is fully KWP2000 compliant but I think the initialization proccess is the same as the standard KWP2000 but i'm not sure...
Of it isn't fully compliant, how can know the correct protocol.. ? If I have tne test machine of the scooter, can I find the correct protocol ? If yes, how ?
Thanks !
Best regards,

I don't think tha hardware is the problem ..... (if the interface is
built correctly).
Does your scooter is fully kwp2000 compliant ? are you sure ?
i think that's the right direction ......
