I think you overpaid! I don't think I paid more than $25 or so from SAE.
You don't need 9141-1 or -3.
SAE sells a book that is a collection of all the other OBDII specs. It's
about $80 or so. A real bargain, considering the thousands it would cost
to buy all those specs separately.
It is probably in our best interst not to "trade" specs unless you can
get a lawyer to prove it is fair use to do so. However, there should
be no problem with paraphrasing information in the specs for others.
