DS2 Interface + DABE

Hi All,

I have some questions with regards to DS2 interface and DABE software.

I have a 2000 318i E46. My airbag warning lamp is on, so I need to
get communications to the Airbag ECU for starters.

1 I have a k-line level shifter that works on VW, Opel etc. Will ths
interface work with the DS2 protocol, or are there some differences
in voltage levels?

2 Once I have a interface that will work, can I just connect to the
12V, GND, Data on the ound diagnosis connector; or do I need to
replace the cover? I see that the cover has some connections?

3 I have installed the DABE software but cannot start it as I do not
have the correct com port available. Is there somewhere in the
registry where I can change the port number?
