Hi Rodolfo.

The max232 chip would help with the voltage levels, but I don't think
the PC serial port can be configured at 10.4kbps, 9600 and 14400 are
the closest speeds.

I'm from Venezuela, my plan is to build a dedicated interface between
my 98 Dodge neon (ISO) and an old laptop I keep in the trunk as a MP3
player / GPS logger. I have never worked with a PIC ... hard to find
in my country.
