Hi Guzzi,

regarding the key code you enter with the accelerator pedal there is a function
within the M1.5.5 implementation (and later versions i presume) that allows you
to enter the combination to the ECU to confirm the code - this should also allow
starting from what I've read, and possibly access to other security functions.
It's basically like satisfying the immobiliser conditions to permit starting
etc.

To tell if the correct code hsas been entered it claims the code light should go
out iirc, no other way of telling, software wise.

I've tried brute forcing all combinations but the ECU gave nothing away, would
need to get a dvm on the code pin out and set an alarm when it drops....

I don't know what's inside the master key, it must contain that same code to
allow other keys to be coded to the immobiliser ecu & engine ecu. You can't do
this with just the code, you need the master key. It must be the immobiliser ecu
that controls this, as the transponder that sits around the ignition barrel
connects straight to the immob ecu.

I've not taken a key apart to check to see what's inside, but I want to approach
it from the other way - to make a different ECU work on a car that you don't
know the code for - it must also be somehow stored in the ecu, as when you enter
it manually the accelerator only connects to the main ecu, not the immobiliser
ecu. I got an ecu from the breakers I want to run a different map on to the
normal ecu, but of course, it will not start :/

I believe there is a way to reset the ECU's (both immobiliser & main ecu) back
to a virgin state. The immbiliser ECU looks like it's eeprom based, where as the
M1.5.5 is processor based. I guess it needs to be flashed with a new 'virgin'
image rather than being told it is a virgin :(
