You might want to have a look at this site
http://www.elmelectronics.com/ they have an ELM320 chip that
apparently will do the conversion for you. There is a very
informative .pdf file that can be downloaded that gives quite a lot
of useful information. They also do a GM version. No good for us in
Europe, but it may help you.
