Audi 2.6 V6 Hella ECU and cabriolet roof controller

Hi all,

Im new to this forum. I have done a few quick searches through
previous messages but without success.

I'm having trouble communicating with my engine ECU. The Ross-Tech
FAQs say this can't be done on this model with a cheaper interface. I
was wondering if anyone could offer any advice?

Also, I had to change a faulty cabriolet roof controller which had a
good working OBD interface. When I put the new one in (which worked)
it wouldn't communicate with the OBD interface. Is this normal? Some
controllers have OBD and others don't?
