Hi, Nigel!
Excuse us for reading Your posts so late!
The way You communicate with ECU is very straightforward of course.
But using 9600 or 10400 is too simple- please remind of e.g. BMW
using speeds from 240 to 10400 baud. You can detect exact baudrate
from 0x55 synch byte very precisely- we have had modules in cars
using very strange or drifted away baudrates- controllers maybe using
RC network for timing, so they could by no means be read with fixed
1200, 2400, 4800 etc. baudrates. If You are interested we can provide
You with very simple modification both to Your hard- and software to
determine exact baudrate- and with VAG cars diagnose even those cars
which VAG 1551/1552 does not!
Best regards, Jyri
