ISO fast init using only TXD?

I have an interface that connects only to the RS232 RXD and TXD lines.
Since a 16550 UART can be configured for 5bps, its clearly possible to
do slow init using this setup. Is it possible to generate the fast init
pulses using only TXD? If so, how?
