How to test Jeff's circuit?

Sorry about my english but I try to explain my problem.

I have realized Jeff's circuits on Bread-Board and it
works fine when PC send a TXD, infact K line have
the same signal inverted between 0 and 12V.
I need to use only K-Line because my vehicle hasn't L-Line.
When the K signal gone back to RXD I have one problem.
The OptoIsolator input is correct, K-Line is inverted by Transistor,
but in Output there is nothing. The opto is OK.

Looking the schema I suppose that RST was put at down like GND (-)
and DTR was put at high (+)

So if i want to test this circuit with HyperTerminal program,
what can i do? If using this program RST was up... can I
switch RST with DTR and put the new RST(old DTR) to GND?

Sorry but I canìt find any programs to test the circuit, and
before to run VagCom I want to be sure that my circuit is
correct.
