I'm glad to hear you are working on this! I am also working on an MP3
player for my car. I'm using a single board computer and a custom made
switching power supply. I'd love to integrate diagnostic capabilities
into it. The computer runs Linux.
My time is limited, but if I can help with anything please let me know.
