Is 1998 Civic correspondence to OBD?

Dear all automobile maniacs,
i`m from Kaasaki city,Japah.

I haave Honda Civic Type-R 1998 model. (I guess It was for Japan
domestic
only model)

I`m interesting OBD system,I want use OBD to engine conditon
checker and Data logger for motor sports.

But,now the project is now actual state stopping ,
because the EK Civic`s ECU details are$B!!(Balmost
not open.

I foud the ecu has outer diagnostic conector , that is for connect
HONDA ecu Tester, aad it find , anyway I talsofound in internal circuit
board has 5-pin connctor . It connecterd directry to CPU serial
interface
(I guess the internal connector is for
debugging).

Of course I know the most new cars delivered after 1999,
which can attach easily OBD diagnosis system on the marcket.

BUT, I want REALY make the Diag system with OBD or the HONDA
original diag
connector , or thenternal 5-pin connector .

Does someone know about the protocols?
I need the information seriously.

Anyway,
If someone interest this mail, I can open more information
about HONDA and other Japanese cars information of ECUs.

I management ML about OBD/OBDII/KWP in Japan.
The ML is almost spoken in Japanese, but if you have japanese
car, We`are welcome. Sspeak English is no problem.
